NEW YORK, NY.— Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, Denver Broncos cornerback Pat Surtain II and Houston Texans kicker Ka’imi Fairbairn are the AFC Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week for Week 5 (October 3, 6-7).
OFFENSE: QB LAMAR JACKSON, BALTIMORE RAVENS
- Jackson completed 26 of 42 attempts (61.9 percent) for 348 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions for a 119.9 rating and added 55 rushing yards in Baltimore’s 41-38 road win in overtime over Cincinnati. Jackson became the first player in NFL history with multiple career games with at least 300 passing yards, 50 rushing yards and four touchdown passes.
- This is the 11th-career Player of the Week award for Jackson, trailing only kicker Justin Tucker (12-time winner) for the most in franchise history:

- 2023: Weeks 7, 17

- Since entering the NFL in 2018, Jackson’s 11 Player of the Week awards are the second-most in the NFL, trailing only Josh Allen (16-time winner).
DEFENSE: CB PAT SURTAIN II, DENVER BRONCOS
- Surtain II recorded three tackles two interceptions, and a touchdown in Denver’s 34-18 victory against Las Vegas. His 100-yard interception-return for a touchdown in the second quarter marked the third interception-return of at least 100 yards in Broncos history.
- This is Surtain II’s second-career Player of the Week award, also earning the honor in Week 12 of the 2021 season. He becomes the third Broncos defensive back to win the award multiple times, joining Justin Simmons (two-time winner) and Aqib Talib (two).
- Surtain II and former college teammate Xavier McKinney (who earned NFC Defensive Player of the Week this week) become the third and fourth former University of Alabama defensive backs to win multiple Player of the Week Awards, joining Landon Collins (four-time winner), Roman Harber (three) and Eddie Jackson (two).
SPECIAL TEAMS: K KA’IMI FAIRBAIRN, HOUSTON TEXANS
- Fairbairn converted both point-after attempts and all three of his field goal attempts in Houston’s 23-20 victory over Buffalo, including two from over 50 yards. Fairbairn’s 59-yard game winner as time expired was the longest made field goal in the NFL in Week 5.
- This is the second Special Teams Player of the Week Award for Fairbairn this season and fourth in his career, surpassing Kris Brown for the most-ever by a Houston kicker.
