Andrey Rublev and Sebastian Baez successfully secured a repeat championship on the ATP Tour this week.

Rublev has achieved the distinction of becoming a two-time champion at an event by winning the trophy at the Qatar ExxonMobil Open in Doha. At 27 years old, he successfully navigated three decisive sets during the hard-court ATP 500 tournament, ultimately securing his 17th tour-level title overall. This victory marks a significant achievement following his relatively modest start to the 2025 season.

“It feels amazing,” said Rublev, who also won in Doha in 2020, after he defeated Jack Draper in this year’s final. “It’s my first ever title that I won twice. I’m really happy… I was really good mentally and didn’t let frustration get over me. As soon as I was frustrated, I was able to restart again and I was able to play at the same intensity. That’s the most important thing.”

Joao Fonseca has secured his inaugural title on the ATP Tour.

At the Rio Open presented by Claro, Baez made history by becoming the first player to successfully defend the title in the tournament’s 11-year history within the clay-court ATP 500 series. Currently ranked No. 31 in the PIF ATP Rankings, he achieved this milestone by defeating Alexandre Muller in straight sets, enhancing his remarkable record in tour-level finals to 7 wins and 2 losses.

“I am so proud of the whole week,” said the 24-year-old Baez. “I am so happy for every match. I did my best and I am so happy. I try to give my best every point… I try to focus on the match and that is the most difficult part in the finals, but the support from my coach and the team is so important.”
