The Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters, a significant event in the ATP Tour calendar, is set to witness a host of stars aiming to make a statement with their opening outing on clay for 2025.

Carlos Alcaraz, determined to bounce back quickly from his early exit in Miami, is set for a deep run as the second seed at the clay-court ATP Masters 1000. The Spaniard, who is 15-4 for the season, remains in a confident and resilient mood.

“I am really happy with the way I am playing,” said Alcaraz in Monte-Carlo, where he will compete for just the second time. “Since I started the year, I have been playing great tennis. Tennis is not just about hitting the ball. It is about more than that. It is about mentality, physical side… I am just happy and ready to play well on clay.”

Novak Djokovic may have fallen short against Jakub Mensik in the Miami final, but his run in Florida has only strengthened his belief that he will soon secure his 100th tour-level trophy. The 37-year-old Serbian is a two-time champion at the Monte-Carlo Country Club, where he will begin his campaign against Alejandro Tabilo.

“A bit of a bitter feeling in the end to lose the final, but it was high-quality from me,” said Djokovic. “Served great, played well. I was just a bit unlucky in the final — two tie-breaks — but he was better. That is all. It gives me a great deal of encouragement and positivity reflecting on my game and how I played in Miami.”

Jakub Mensik makes an impressive contribution in Miami; women’s doubles champions crowned.
