Euto Luostarinen and Jonah Gadjovich each scored for Florida, while Sergei Bobrovsky made 24 saves.

Boston opted to start Joonas Korpisalo in goal rather than newly re-signed Jeremy Swayman, who finalized his eight-year, $66 million contract on Sunday. Korpisalo recorded 29 saves. By the midway point of the second period, with the score at 5-1, Panthers fans vocally expressed their support for Swayman through chants of “We want Swayman.”

Pavel Zacha, Charlie McAvoy, Trent Frederic, and David Pastrnak each scored for Boston, extending their consecutive-opening-game wins to five. Meanwhile, Florida has achieved a 4-1 record in its most recent five season openers.
