Florida Panthers secured their seventh consecutive victory with a shootout win over the Philadelphia Flyers

Evan Rodrigues scored the decisive goal in the fifth round of the shootout, with Sergei Bobrovsky making five saves during overtime, leading the Florida Panthers to a 4-3 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday night. This victory marks their seventh consecutive win.

Panthers recorded three goals in the second period for the second consecutive game. This season, the team is undefeated with a 6-0-0 record in games where they score at least three goals in any period.

Florida Panthers Appoint Paul Maurice as Head Coach

The game marked the 2,000th game in the NHL coaching career for Florida’s Paul Maurice, including postseason contests. He is the second coach to achieve this milestone, joining Hockey Hall of Famer Scotty Bowman, who has coached 2,494 games.

Sam Bennett, Dmitry Kulikov, and Nate Schmidt each scored regulation goals for Florida, while Brandon Rodrigues contributed two assists before scoring the game-winning goal in the shootout. Sergei Bobrovsky secured his 404th career victory, surpassing Grant Fuhr to move into 12th place on the all-time win list.

Flyers will host San Jose on Monday to begin a stretch of six out of seven games at home. The Panthers will host New Jersey on Tuesday to initiate a two-game series.
