Louisville Cardinals have secured a spot in the Atlantic Coast Conference title game following a hard-fought victory against the Miami Hurricanes

The tenth-ranked Louisville Cardinals are taking their talents to the Atlantic Coast Conference title game.

Jake Plummer threw three touchdown passes as Louisville hung on at the last second, beating Miami 38-31.

It is the first ACC title game berth for the Cardinals, who will play Florida State in Charlotte on December 2nd.

The Cardinals gained possession of the Schnellenberger Trophy. A bronze pair of actual Cowboy boots Howard Schnellenberger, who coached both Miami and Louisville, wore.

Mark Fletcher rushed for 126 yards and two touchdowns for Miami.

Hurricanes offense finished with 486 total yards and zero turnovers.

Hurricanes’ defense gave up 470 and forced a turnover.

“We have to teach it better, coach it better, so we can cover better,” Hurricanes head coach Mario Cristobal said.

Hurricanes have lost three in a row.

Louisville plays host to Kentucky next Saturday. Miami visits Boston College on Black Friday.
