The Dolphins make me cry, Odell Beckham Jr. has announced that he will be joining the Miami Dolphins

MIAMI GARDENS, FL. – The Miami Dolphins have signed wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to a one-year contract.

Beckham, 31, will join his fifth team after previously playing for the Baltimore Ravens.

“This opportunity was the main one that kept being put in front of my face. I remember somebody asked me a few years ago if I would ever play for the Dolphins. I kind of shrugged it off, that it wasn’t really an idea. Obviously, I have a couple guys that I know down here, my brother Duke Riley, won a championship with Jalen (Ramsey),” Beckham Jr said. “But Coach Mike (McDaniel) definitely is someone who – he sold it to me because it’s just his energy, we speak the same language (when) we’re talking, the conversations we had about football. Just the opportunity, like I said, is presenting itself. God put it in front of me and that’s kind of just where I went and rolled with it.”

Beckham, a force to be reckoned with, boasts an impressive resume. He’s a three-time Pro Bowl selection (2014-16), a Super Bowl champion (LVI), and the 2014 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.

The Dolphins make me cry, Miami Dolphins have chosen to draft Penn State linebacker Chop Robinson with the 21st overall pick in the NFL draft

As he enters his 10th NFL season, his stats speak volumes. With 110 games under his belt, 97 of which he started, he’s racked up an impressive 566 receptions for 7,932 yards (14.0 avg.) and 59 touchdowns. His playoff record is equally impressive, with 29 receptions for 350 yards (12.1 avg.) and two scores in seven games with six starts.

The NFL Network first reported Beckham’s signing. The agreement, which is expected to be worth up to $8.25 million, underscores the Dolphins’ commitment to strengthening their offensive lineup.

Beckham joins a Dolphins group with last year’s receiving yards leader Tyreek Hill and his speedy counterpart Jaylen Waddle. Hill and Waddle combined for more yards (2,813) than any other wide receiver duo in the NFL in 2023, but Miami had depth concerns at wide receiver beyond those two.

“Usually you only come down here for a couple of days, but it’s a place that I enjoy,” Beckham added. “Beautiful weather and obviously a beautiful facility, organization, everything. An opportunity that I’m truly excited about.”

Since entering the league in 2014, Beckham’s 7,932 receiving yards rank 13th, while his 59 touchdown receptions are tied for ninth. The N.Y. Giants initially selected him as the 12th overall pick of the 2014 NFL Draft. He has spent time with the Giants (2014-18), Cleveland (2019-21), the L.A. Rams (2021), and Baltimore (2023). Beckham played collegiately at LSU.
