The Chicago Sky lost to the Washington Mystics at Wintrust Arena on Wednesday, Sept. 11. With the loss, the Sky lost the season series against Washington 1-3. The Sky are now 1.0 games ahead of both the Mystics and the Atlanta Dream for the eighth spot in the playoff picture.
The Sky are now 13-23 on the season, 5-13 against the Eastern Conference, 6-13 at home, and 34-37 against Washington all time.
Chennedy Carter recorded 16 points to lead the Sky in scoring, making 53.8% (7 of 13) of her shots from the field. Kamilla Cardoso recorded 13 points and eight rebounds in the loss while Isabelle Harrison notched 10 points and eight rebounds.

Aaliyah Edwards led the Mystics in scoring with 15 points to go along with a team-high 10 rebounds. Brittney Sykes approached a triple-double for Washington with 14 points, eight rebounds and a season-high-tying seven assists. Sika Koné scored a career-high 11 points off the bench for Washington along with five rebounds and three assists.
Kaela Davis made her 2024 Sky debut.
Ariel Atkins passed Monique Currie (2,843 points with the Mystics) for third on the Mystics’ all-time points list with 2,849 after Wednesday.
Julie Vanloo passed Cynthia Cooper (67 three-pointers as a rookie) for sixth on the WNBA’s all-time rookie three-pointers list with 69.
The Sky hit the road for one game for a matchup with the Minnesota Lynx on Friday, Sept. 13. The Sky currently trail the season series against Minnesota 0-2.
In the first matchup between the two teams this season, the Sky lost to the Lynx 62-70 on June 30. Chennedy Carter’s 15 points led Chicago in scoring, with Lindsay Allen adding 13 points and Angel Reese recording a 10-point, 16-rebound double-double. Minnesota was led in scoring by Kayla McBride, who notched 16 points. Napheesa Collier pulled in a 13-point, 11-rebound double-double and Alanna Smith scored 11.
