Inter Miami CF Suffers Away Loss to Charlotte FC

Charlotte, N.C. – Inter Miami CF suffered a 3-0 defeat on Saturday night during their MLS regular season match against Charlotte FC.

Inter Miami began the match with Óscar Ustari in goal. The defensive line consisted of Ian Fray, Tomás Avilés, Maximiliano Falcón, and Jordi Alba. The midfield featured Yannick Bright and Sergio Busquets playing at the base, with Rodrigo De Paul, Captain Lionel Messi, and Telasco Segovia positioned further forward. Tadeo Allende led the attacking efforts.

Academy product Daniel Pinter was included in the First Team matchday squad for the first time. The forward was signed on a short-term agreement from the Club’s MLS NEXT Pro team, Inter Miami CF II. He entered the match as a second-half substitute in the 70th minute, making his debut for the First Team.

Early in the match, Inter Miami created a notable scoring opportunity in the sixth minute when Jordi Alba’s powerful volley from the left side of the box was saved by Charlotte’s goalkeeper.

In the 32nd minute, Inter Miami was awarded a penalty, but the resulting attempt was saved by the opposing goalkeeper.

Charlotte took the lead in the 34th minute through a goal by Idan Toklomati.

The hosts further extended their lead with two additional goals in the second half, with Toklomati scoring again in the 47th minute and converting a penalty in the 84th minute.

Inter Miami will now prepare for a quick turnaround, as the team is scheduled to host Seattle Sounders FC at Chase Stadium on Tuesday, September 16.
