CORAL GABLES, FL. – Miami’s Francis Mauigoa has been named the recipient of this year’s ACC Jacobs Blocking Trophy, one of the oldest honors in college football recognizing outstanding offensive linemen.
A consistent presence on the Miami offensive line, Mauigoa has started every game at right tackle since his arrival in 2023, totaling 38 consecutive starts. This season, he earned an overall grade of 85.9 from Pro Football Focus, ranking sixth nationally among offensive tackles. His pass protection has been particularly strong, with an 88.8 PFF pass-blocking grade, the third-best among all college football players at his position.

Projected as a first-round selection in the 2026 NFL Draft, Mauigoa plays a key role in an offensive line that has been among the most dependable units in the country. Miami is currently ranked No. 8 nationally in sacks allowed per game (0.92) and No. 6 in tackles for loss allowed per game (3.50). The unit was also recognized on the Joe Moore Award midseason honor roll, which highlights the top offensive lines in college football.
Throughout the regular season, the Hurricanes averaged 425.8 total yards per game, combining a strong rushing attack with 150.0 rushing yards per game and an efficient passing game with 275.8 passing yards per contest. The team allowed only 11 sacks on 379 pass attempts, with Mauigoa playing a vital role at the right tackle position.
Mauigoa’s contributions in the running game helped Miami finish the season with 1,800 rushing yards, 23 rushing touchdowns, and an average of 4.2 yards per carry. The Hurricanes exceeded 200 rushing yards in three games, including a season-high 214 yards in their victory over NC State on November 15.
This balanced offensive approach enabled quarterback Carson Beck to have an outstanding season, passing for 3,072 yards and 25 touchdowns with a completion percentage of 74.7%. Mauigoa also contributed to the team’s scoring with a rare rushing touchdown, crossing the goal line from three yards out earlier in the season.
First awarded in 1953, the ACC Jacobs Blocking Trophy honors the conference’s top blocker each season. The award continues a tradition established by William P. Jacobs, a former president of Presbyterian College, whose son and great-grandson continue to present the trophy, which is voted on by ACC coaches.
Miami concluded the regular season with a 10-2 overall record and a 6-2 mark within the ACC, heavily reliant on an offensive line that consistently dominated the line of scrimmage throughout the season.
