MIAMI,FL. – The Miami Marlins today acquired Minor League prospect INF Jacob Amaya from the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for INF Miguel Rojas. Amaya is listed as the No. 15 prospect in the Dodgers system by MLB Pipeline.
Amaya, 24, was named an MiLB.com Organizational All-Star for the Dodgers in 2022, combining for 17 home runs and 71 RBI in 133 games played between Double-A Tulsa and Triple-A Oklahoma City.

The native of El Monte, California, owns a .256 batting average and .362 on-base percentage in 463 games played across five professional seasons. Amaya has spent a majority of time at shortstop (327 games), while also appearing at second base (62 games) and third base (six games).
Amaya was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 11th round of the 2017 MLB Draft out of South Hills High School (CA). He was named a Pioneer League Mid-Season All-Star in 2018, his first full Minor League season.
With the addition of Amaya, the Marlins 40-man roster now consists of 40 players.
