Miami Heat emerged victorious over the Boston Celtics by executing an exceptional series of successful 3-point shots

Miami brought the Heat to Boston, literally.

The Miami Heat defeated the Boston Celtics with an unprecedented string of 3-pointers on Wednesday night, erasing the Celtics’ all-season-long effort to establish a home-court advantage.

Tyler Herro had 24 points and 14 assists, hitting six of Miami’s 23 3-pointers — the most in a playoff game in franchise history — to lead the Heat to a 111-101 victory over top-seeded Boston and tie the first-round playoff series at one game apiece.

Jayson Tatum with his first career playoff triple-double to lead Boston past the Miami Heat to open their first-round playoff series.

“Preparation for tonight the last two days were watching film, talking to the coaches, talking to teammates the last two days,” Herro said. “It was an international last two days. Ultimately, it is what sets us up for success.”

Heat are playing their third straight game without playoff star Jimmy Butler, who was injured in the opening play-in game; Miami shot better than 50% from 3-point range in the first three quarters (and a still productive 4 of 10 in the fourth).

Jaylen Brown scored 33 points for Boston, and Jayson Tatum scored 28. The Celtics outscored the Heat 46-26 in the paint but could not withstand the Heat’s 53 percent three-point shooting.

The Celtics won 64 games in the regular season to claim home-court advantage through the NBA Finals.
