Jesús Sánchez contributed to Miami Marlins’ victory over Texas Rangers, Marlins successful in May

The Miami Marlins got their 21st win of the season after an inspiring month of May.

Jesus Sanchez hit a three-run homer and doubled twice to help the Miami Marlins beat the Texas Rangers 8-2.

The Marlins’ triumph, culminating in a 14-13 record in May, marked their first winning month since their impressive 17-10 run in September last year, instilling a sense of optimism for the future.

“Starting pitching has been excellent, timely hits,” Marlins manager Skip Schumaker said. “I’m proud of the guys for not spiraling.”

Marlins still have work to do as they remain last in the National League.

Meanwhile, the World Series Champion Texas Rangers feel three games below .500 for the second time this month.
