Paris, France – Anthony Edwards turned in another double-figures scoring performance to highlight Tuesday’s competition at the 2024 Summer Olympic Games.
Basketball
- Anthony Edwards tallied 17 points, six rebounds, and two assists in the United States’ 122-87 quarterfinal victory over Brazil. The U.S. will play Serbia in Thursday’s semifinal in Paris. The game will tip at either 11:30 a.m. or 3 p.m. on USA Network and Peacock.
Track & Field
- Chanice Porter represented Jamaica in her second Olympic Games, placing 17th in the women’s long jump qualifiers with a mark of 6.48 meters/21 feet, 3.25 inches.
- Canadian sprinter Christopher Morales Williams clocked a 45.25 in the 400-meter dash semifinals to place 21st overall in his first Olympic Games.
- Marie-Therese Obst will open Wednesday’s competition in the women’s javelin qualification at 4:05 a.m. ET. Aaliyah Butler is set to compete in the women’s 400m semifinals at 2:45 p.m.
Soccer
- Croix Bethune remained an alternate for the United States’ 1-0 victory over Germany in the semifinals Tuesday in Lyon. With the victory, Bethune is guaranteed of an Olympic medal, the first in Georgia program history. The USWNT plays Spain/Brazil in the gold medal match on Saturday at 11 a.m. on USA and Peacock.
