Jordan Brown recognized as SEC Co-Defensive Player of the Week

ATHENS, GA. – Following a season-opening shutout against No. 7 Pitt, junior goalkeeper Jordan Brown was named Southeastern Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.

Monday’s honor marks the first Defensive Player of the Week honor for Brown, who was previously named Freshman of the Week twice in the 2022 season. She shared this week’s award with Auburn goalkeeper Maddie Prohaska.

Four current and former Georgia Bulldogs contributed to Team USA’s success by securing a total of six medals at the 2024 Summer Olympics

Brown helped No. 14 Georgia secure a draw with the Panthers with five saves against 18 shots with five on frame, earning the 12th shutout of her Bulldog career. The Las Vegas native has posted five saves in five of her last six outings dating back to last season.

Brown and her Bulldog teammates return to the field this Thursday for a matchup at No. 8 North Carolina at 5 p.m. in Chapel Hill before coming home to host Kennesaw State on Sunday at 4 p.m. Thursday’s match will stream live on ACC Network Extra with Sunday’s contest streaming on SEC Network+.
