Dragic known as The Dragon finished with 28 points; outscoring the Portland Trailblazers single-handedly 8-7 in the final 3:52 as the Miami Heat beat the Trail Blazers 120-111 on Saturday night. Damian Lillard known as Dame led the Trailblazers with 42 points.

“We knew we just had to stick to our game plan and we did,” Dragic stated.

Dragic became the first Slovenian player to reach the 10,000-point mark in the NBA.

For the Trailblazers, Lillard eclipsed the 11,000-point mark; scoring 32 points through three-quarters of play. Trailblazers were outscored by 11 points in the opening quarter. Lillard’s 3-pointer with 5:38 left gave Portland its first lead since the first quarter.

The Heat was perfect on their final five shots, the last four of them from 3-point land.

Kelly Olynyk and Dwyane Wade who has begun his final season before retiring finished with 19 points for Miami. Rodney McGruder finished with 14 points; Josh Richardson finished with 11 points. Hassan Whiteside and a 16-rebound, six-block night.

CJ McCollum added 19 points in the box score for Portland, and Zach Collins finished with 13.

The season is young, and the beat goes on.

Trail Blazers take their talents to Indiana on Monday. The Heat play host to Sacramento on Monday.
