BOONE, N.C. — App State linebacker Trey Cobb has been named the Sun Belt Conference’s Defensive Player of the Week following a strong performance for the first-place Mountaineers in a league win against ULM.Cobb made 12 tackles, recorded an interception, recovered a fumble and had a key fourth-down stop as App State built a 49-7 halftime lead in a 59-28 victory. The fumble recovery, interception and fourth-down tackle inside the App State 30 ended ULM’s second, third and fourth possessions, helping the Mountaineers establish a 28-0 lead only a few minutes into the second quarter.
