The beat goes on this tennis season for Daniil Medvedev.
Playing his fifth ATP Tour final in as many tournaments, Medvedev continued his blistering form to claim his first title at the Miami Open after a 7-5, 6-3 victory over Jannik Sinner.
“My attacking skills are underrated,” Medvedev said.
Medvedev improved to 24-1 in his past five events, reaping four titles.
Medvedev is now 6-0 in his head-to-head against Sinner.
Sinner came off the best match of the tournament after a three-set semifinal win over world number one Carlos Alcarez.
Sinner shared he was under the weather early morning. In the opening set, he broke serve first. But Medvedev reestablished his advantage.
Sinner is now 0-2 in ATP Masters 1000 Finals.
