Van Dyke threw a career-high five touchdown passes Saturday to lead the Miami Hurricanes to a 48-33 win over the 23rd-ranked Texas A&M Aggies.
“We are working our way there,” Hurricanes head coach Mario Cristobal said. “We are nowhere we want to be.”
Hurricanes wide receiver Jacolby George finished with three touchdowns and 94 receiving yards.
Brashard Smith returned a kickoff 98 yards for a score and a statement win for Miami.

Texas A&M was held to under 100 yards rushing and committed three turnovers.
Texas A&M is at risk of tumbling out of the AP top 25.
Kamren Kinchens, who caught an interception, was carted off the field and taken to the hospital after a scary hit in the fourth quarter. Miami coach Mario Cristobal said Kinchens would be okay with continued evaluation.
Texas A&M will host Louisiana Monroe next Saturday.
Miami will host Bethune Cookman on Thursday.
