Boston Celtics – Miami Heat.
Two teams met in last season’s Eastern Conference Finals, with Miami taking the series. It is one-sided so far this season.
Jayson Tatum scored 26 points as the Celtics embarrassed the Heat on their home court 143-110.
Celtics head coach Joe Mazzula quoted the 1993 crime drama A Bronx Tale: “Nobody Cares.”
Kristaps Porzingis had 19 points before spraining his left ankle. Celtics were:
- 63 percent from the field.
- 55 percent from three-point land.
- 95 percent from the free throw line.
“Those wins on the road are fulfilling,” Tatum said.
The 143 points are the most Boston ever scored against Miami.
“We have been stellar at home, but we also want to be better on the road,” Celtics shooting guard Jaylen Brown said. “We have to go through All-Star break and run through the finish line.”
Brown finished with 18 points and led the team with three steals.
Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro each scored 19 points.
Heat was down by as many as 34 points.
Miami has lost five in a row.
