Chicago Sky defeated the Dallas Wings, 83-74, on Saturday, May 18 for their first victory of the 2024 regular season. The win marked head coach Teresa Weatherspoon’s first career head coaching win in the WNBA. With the victory, the Sky moved to 1-1 on the season, 17-8 against the Wings (since moving to Dallas) and 26-26 against the franchise all time (including Detroit and Tulsa).
Elizabeth Williams had a career game in the win, tying her career high of five steals in the victory to go along with a 12-point, 10-rebound double-double, three assists and five blocks. Diamond DeShields led the Sky in scoring with 16 points in 24 minutes, also recording five rebounds, three assists, two blocks and two steals.
Elizabeth Williams passed Tangela Smith (658) for 21st on the WNBA’s all time offensive rebounds list with 663 after Saturday’s game.

Williams’ performance marked the third time in WNBA history a player finished a game with 10+ points, 10+ rebounds, 5+ steals and 5+ blocks. Joins Candace Parker and Natasha Howard (Across the Timeline).
In the win, the Sky surpassed their 2023 season high of 18 offensive rebounds with 19 offensive boards and 42 total rebounds. Marina Mabrey also had a career outing, tallying a career-high five steals along with a near-triple-double (14 points, nine rebounds, eight assists). Angel Reese recorded 11 points and nine rebounds, seven of which were offensive boards, while Dana Evans and Chennedy Carter recorded 12 points apiece.
Dallas guard Arike Ogunbowale scored 35 of the Wings’ 74 points, attempting 28 field goals. Kalani Brown recorded 11 points and nine rebounds while rookie Stephanie Soares blocked four shots off the bench.
Arike Ogunbowale passed Cheryl Ford (224) for fourth on the Wings’ all-time steals list with 225 after Saturday’s game.
With 35 points tonight, Ogunbowale tied Maya Moore and Jewell Loyd with eight games of 35 or more points in WNBA history. That ranks tied for third all time, behind Breanna Stewart’s 10 and Diana Taurasi’s 14 (Across the Timeline).
Ogunbowale passed Glory Johnson (612 career free throws) for fourth on the Wings’ all-time free throws list with 620 after Saturday’s game.
