Anthony Davis and LeBron James have been selected for the NBA In-Season All-Tournament Team

EL SEGUNDO, CA. – The Los Angeles Lakers are adding to their storied legacy by winning the inaugural NBA Cup, having successfully defeated the Indiana Pacers in the championship game. Additionally, Lakers center Anthony Davis and forward LeBron James were recognized today as members of the 2023 All-Tournament Team, acknowledging their exceptional performances throughout both Group Play and the Knockout Rounds of the inaugural NBA In-Season Tournament. Together, they led the team’s impressive journey to the NBA Cup with a flawless record of 7-0.

Davis and James have been selected to join Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks, Kevin Durant of the Phoenix Suns, and Tyrese Haliburton of the Indiana Pacers on the inaugural All-Tournament Team.

Davis appeared in all seven In-Season Tournament games for the Lakers, averaging 23.3 points, 14.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.0 steals and 2.9 blocks in 33.9 minutes while shooting 52.5 percent from the field and 79.6 percent from the free-throw line. In the IST Finals against the Indiana Pacers on Dec. 9 in Las Vegas, Davis racked up 41 points (16-24 FG, 9-13 FT) to go along with 20 rebounds, five assists and four blocks in 41 total minutes. The 30-year-old led all players in tournament action in total rebounds (102) and ranked second in total blocks (20).

In seven In-Season Tournament games, James posted averages of 26.4 points, 8.0 rebounds, 7.6 assists and 1.6 steals in 30.7 minutes while shooting 56.8 percent from the field and 60.6 percent from 3-point range. Voted as this year’s In-Season Tournament Most Valuable Player, the 38-year-old made more field goals (67) than any other player throughout the tournament and finished the seven games with an IST-high of +116 plus/minus.

The Lakers will honor Davis and James as they recognize the In-Season Tournament Championship ahead of their home game on Monday, Dec. 18. The team will unveil a unique, add-a-year In-Season Tournament banner, recognizing the inaugural 2023 win.
