The FIA is pleased to announce the launch of a new program aimed at providing mentorship opportunities for individuals with disabilities in the motorsport industry.
This initiative is designed to foster a sense of community and global connection, raise awareness about the contributions of disabled individuals in motorsport, and support both personal and professional development. Less experienced participants, referred to as mentees, will be paired with seasoned professionals, known as mentors, to facilitate relationship-building and enhance confidence.
“The FIA is committed to increasing accessibility and diversity across motorsport, and through programmes like this we are able to assist and grow our communities,” Mohammed Ben Sulayem, FIA President, said. “This new programme will help to create a network of support and learning for disabled individuals, opening up new opportunities in line with our commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, working together to break down barriers that obstruct full and effective participation in motorsport.”
The program will accommodate 50 participants, with applications opening on February 6 and processed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Matching of mentors and mentees will be based on shared career interests, skills, knowledge, experience, and other relevant attributes. The FIA will provide resources and guidelines to assist both parties in cultivating effective relationships that promote comprehensive development.
“The DAA was created to ensure accessible racing and motoring, to promote knowledge sharing and best practices, and to champion inclusivity and representation,” Nathalie McGloin, FIA Disability and Accessibility Commission President, said. “I’m proud to be part of the launch of this next step in the FIA’s commitment to accessibility and diversity and look forward to seeing these mentorship partnerships flourish.”
This program will be conducted online, allowing participants to engage through a digital platform powered by OneUpOneDown mentorship technology. This approach ensures flexible and accessible interactions, regardless of participants’ locations, making scheduling and resource sharing straightforward and convenient.
The FIA promotes diversity comprehensively and is dedicated to creating improved and more accessible pathways into both motorsport and mobility. Since its establishment in 2018, the FIA Disability & Accessibility Commission has contributed to transforming the sport’s culture, enhancing the inclusion and appreciation of individuals with disabilities across all dimensions of the sport.
