Florida Panthers have progressed to the Stanley Cup Final for the third consecutive season

RALEIGH, N.C. – The Florida Panthers have progressed to the Stanley Cup Final for the third consecutive season.

The Florida Panthers secured the Eastern Conference championship with a 5-3 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 5 on Wednesday at Lenovo Center, highlighted by a notable play from their captain, Aleksander Barkov. The team demonstrated resilience by overcoming an early deficit to advance in the playoffs.

With the score tied at 3-3 in the third period, Barkov successfully eluded a defender, advanced toward the goal, and delivered a precise pass through the slot to Carter Verhaeghe, who converted the opportunity with a high-quality shot, giving their team a 4-3 lead.

“Big players make big plays at the biggest moments when you need them,” forward Sam Reinhart said. “He’s certainly the leader of this team, and we needed him big tonight.”

Florida Panthers secure third consecutive berth in the Eastern Conference Final

Florida has achieved a remarkable milestone as only the second team in the NHL’s salary cap era to reach the Stanley Cup Final in three consecutive seasons, following the Tampa Bay Lightning (2020-2022).

The Florida Panthers are the fifth team in the past 30 years to achieve a multi-goal comeback victory to secure a spot in the Stanley Cup Final.

Sam Bennett has become the first player in the NHL this postseason to reach 10 goals.

The Florida Panthers are the ninth franchise in NHL history to advance to three consecutive Stanley Cup Final appearances.

Brad Marchand is the fourth active NHL player to accumulate 25 career points in potential series-clinching games.
