Tyler Herro Named Eastern Conference Player of the Week

Miami, FL. – The NBA announced today that Miami HEAT guard Tyler Herro has been named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for performances from Monday, March 2, through Sunday, March 8. This is Herro’s second career Player of the Week award and the 63rd time a player from the HEAT has received this recognition.

Herro contributed to Miami’s perfect 4-0 record for the week, extending their winning streak to six games. Over the course of the week, he averaged 26.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 4.8 assists, while shooting 53.7% from the field, 51.7% from three-point range, and 94.7% from the free-throw line. He was the only player in the NBA to achieve these averages and shooting percentages during this period. Additionally, he posted a plus/minus of +51 and led the Heat in scoring in three games, posting at least 22 points in all four games, including three games with at least 25 points and one game with 30 points.

Jimmy Butler is traded to the Golden State Warriors as part of a five-team deal involving the Miami Heat.

Herro began the week by recording 22 points, three rebounds, two assists, and one block in a 124-98 victory against Brooklyn on March 3. He followed up with a team-high 25 points, five assists, and four rebounds on March 5 in a 126-110 win over Brooklyn. During the back-to-back game in Charlotte, Herro contributed significantly by posting a game-high 33 points, nine assists, and nine rebounds with zero turnovers, helping Miami to break the Hornets’ six-game winning streak with a 128-120 road victory. In the final game of the week against the top-seeded Detroit Pistons, Herro led the team with 25 points, along with six rebounds, three assists, and a +18 plus/minus rating.

Since returning from injury on February 20, Herro has contributed to Miami’s 7-2 (.778) record. Additionally, he achieved his 1,000th career three-point field goal on January 6, becoming only the second player in team history to reach this milestone while playing for the Heat. He also ranks as the sixth-fastest player in NBA history to reach 1,000 three-pointers, accomplishing this in just 368 games.
