Coco Gauff will commence her title defense as the Cincinnati Open progresses, along with additional updates

Coco Gauff will commence her title defense in one of the 14 women’s second-round matches scheduled for Thursday. Additionally, the lineup includes a match featuring 32-year-old former Cincinnati Open champion Karolina Pliskova against 17-year-old Mirra Andreeva, along with last week’s Canadian champion Jessica Pegula facing 2023 Cincinnati Open finalist Karolina Muchova.

On Thursday, a total of 12 men’s singles matches are scheduled, featuring a key match between 2023 runner-up Carlos Alcaraz and the dynamic Gael Monfils. Additionally, past Cincinnati champions Grigor Dimitrov and Alexander Zverev will also be competing.

The hard-court season continues this week with the Cincinnati Open

On Wednesday, the total attendance reached 27,308, setting a new single-day record for the Cincinnati Open. Over the first four days of the tournament, the cumulative attendance stands at 94,096. This figure does not account for the 7,002 fans who attended the inaugural Community Day on Saturday, August 10, which successfully raised nearly $200,000 for local charities.

Fifty percent of the 22 first-round matches on Wednesday concluded after three sets.

Fans attending the autograph session with ATP doubles star Matt Ebden had an engaging experience. The 36-year-old Australian wore his Olympic gold medal during the event and graciously allowed fans to hold it while posing for photographs alongside him. Ebden achieved this gold medal alongside his compatriot John Peers, and he is currently seeded second at the Cincinnati Open, partnering with his regular teammate Rohan Bopanna from India.
