Nic Fink secures Silver Medal on final day of swimming competitions

Paris, France – Georgia Bulldog alum Nic Fink concluded a terrific Olympic Games with his third medal of the week Sunday at the 2024 Summer Olympic Games.

Swimming

  • Nic Fink teamed with Ryan Murphy, Caeleb Dressel, and Hunter Armstrong to earn the silver medal in the men’s 4x100m medley relay with a time of 3:28.01. Fink posted a time of 58.97 in the second leg to pick up his third medal of the Olympics and the 41st in Georgia program history.

Track & Field

  • Elena Kulichenko cleared a height of 1.95m/6-4.75 on her third attempt to tie for seventh place in the women’s high jump final. The current Bulldog is the first female Cypriot athlete to compete in a final in athletics, securing a top-10 finish at her first Olympic Games.
  • Tatiana Gusin, representing Greece, also competed in the high jump final in her Olympic debut, clearing 1.86m/16-1.25 to finish ninth.
  • 2024 NCAA indoor and outdoor 400-meter dash champion Christopher Morales Williams placed second in his heat and 15th overall in the first round of the 400m. The Canadian clocked a time of 44.96 to advance to Tuesday’s semifinal round, which is set for 1:35 p.m.
  • Australian graduate student Stephanie Ratcliffe sent her third hammer throw attempt 70.07m/229-10 to secure 15th place in her first Olympic Games.
  • Incoming freshman Adaejah Hodge kicked off her first Olympic Games with a time of 23.00 in the first round of the women’s 200m to place 22nd. A native of the British Virgin Islands, Hodge finished fifth in the sixth and final heat and will compete in tomorrow’s repechage round for a chance to advance to Monday’s semifinal. The 18-year-old is the youngest competitor in the 45-person field.
  • Current Lady Bulldog sprinter Aaliyah Butler (USA) will kick off Monday’s action on the track in the first round of the 400m at 5:55 a.m. Hodge will compete in the repechage round at 6:50 a.m. as she looks to qualify for the semifinals later in the day (2:45 p.m.)

Golf

  • Sepp Straka of Austria finished tied for 35th in the men’s golf competition, finishing 2-under overall after shooting even par in his final round at Le Golf National.
