The Dolphins make me cry, 4 – BY – TUA

The Miami Dolphins are swimming with purpose.

Tua Tagovailoa threw for four touchdowns in a dominant 34-15 win over the New England Patriots.

Dolphins are now winners of three straight.

Tagovailoa remains perfect against the Patriots, 7-0 all-time now against the division rival.

Tagovailoa has demonstrated a commendable ability to maintain composure throughout Miami’s three-game winning streak, as noted by McDaniel, particularly evident in his impressive 317-yard passing performance on Sunday.

The Dolphins (5-6) face a narrow margin for error moving forward this season; however, they have managed to sustain their competitiveness with a strong performance, including two consecutive games scoring over 30 points. With their victory against New England (3-9) in Week 5, the Dolphins have achieved a sweep against their division rivals for the second consecutive season, a feat not accomplished since 1999-2000.

“Getting in the rhythm of stacking wins up in the win column is a big moral booster for the guys in the locker room,” Tagovailoa said.

Tagovailoa entered the game boasting a league-leading completion rate of 73.4%, completing 29 of 40 passes. Since his return from injured reserve in Week 8, he has recorded 11 passing touchdowns and only one interception.

New England faced a challenging game until tight end Austin Hooper successfully found an opening behind the Dolphins’ defense, securing a wide-open 38-yard touchdown catch from Maye, bringing the score to 31-7 with 13:43 remaining.

The Dolphins make me cry, Miami Dolphins’ hopes for a successful postseason remain alive

Maye completed 22 of 37 passes for a total of 221 yards and added 26 rushing yards. However, he was unable to compensate for the overall lackluster performance exhibited by the Patriots, who struggled offensively until the final quarter and incurred 10 penalties.

This performance by the Dolphins was exceptional, arguably their best game to date. The victory against the Rams was a close second, particularly given it was achieved on the road. Both the offensive and defensive units displayed strong performance, with Tagovailoa demonstrating remarkable prowess and Jaylen Waddle significantly contributing more than in previous games. The offensive line also deserves recognition for its adequate protection of Tagovailoa.

Defensively, the pass rush was impressive, led by Chop Robinson and Zach Sieler on the defensive line. The secondary, featuring Jalen Ramsey in various blitz formations, has proven to be a strategic advantage. As the Dolphins prepare for the upcoming Packers game on Thanksgiving night, they are in excellent form.

Over the past three games, the Dolphins have showcased remarkable offensive capabilities. However, incorporating more deep passing into their offensive strategy could further enhance their performance as the season progresses. Tagovailoa has displayed exceptional accuracy, poised movement, and effective ball distribution, operating at a high level apart from the deep ball.

Tyreek Hill has been commendable despite contending with a wrist injury throughout the 2024 season, which has occasionally limited his participation.

“If you can stay together through all that adversity, generally the season has great things in store,” Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said.

Robinson’s performance today was noteworthy, showcasing the talent that led to his draft selection by the Dolphins. His speed off the edge, athleticism, and burst were evident, particularly in light of injuries to Jaelan Phillips, Bradley Chubb, and Andrew Van Ginkel’s departure in free agency. His emergence has been pivotal as the defense continues to develop its identity.

The upcoming game against the Green Bay Packers comes at an opportune time, as the Dolphins are on a winning streak. This matchup presents a significant challenge, with the Packers being one of the stronger teams in the league. The matchup between Jordan Love and Tagovailoa is anticipated to be compelling. The Dolphins must perform at their best, as this is another crucial game. If they can secure a victory and improve to 6-6, they would solidify themselves as one of the hottest teams in the NFL, with this game being one of the most challenging left on their schedule.
