Florida Panthers defeated the Detroit Red Wings.

Sunrise, FL. – In a competitive division race, the Florida Panthers secured two additional points with a 4-1 victory over the Detroit Red Wings at Amerant Bank Arena on Thursday.

With a record of 46-29-4, the Panthers now sit just one point behind the Tampa Bay Lightning for second place in the Atlantic Division, with three games remaining in the regular season.

During the game, head coach Paul Maurice achieved a milestone by recording his 915th victory as a head coach, surpassing Barry Trotz (914) to move into third place on the NHL’s all-time wins list.

“My appreciation for things is the whole group here,” Maurice said of the feat. “How much I enjoy sitting in the coach’s office, with Bill, with the equipment guys, the medical guys, and the players. If I was asked today, the memory, it’s this group, it’s the fun we’ve had, that we’ve worked hard.”

Gustav Forsling and Uvis Balinskis each contributed two assists.

Tomas Nosek led the team with eight faceoff wins.

A.J. Greer recorded six hits, the most on the team.

The Panthers held a 71-49 advantage in even-strength shot attempts.

Sergei Bobrovsky has secured seven wins in his last eight home starts.
