The Miami Open is back, larger with renewed energy.
The iconic tennis and entertainment festival is back at Hard Rock Stadium since moving to the home of the Miami Dolphins in 2019.
In 2020 the tournament was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic, which was very limited and smalled in 2021.
Normalcy is back for 2022, though safety and covid vaccinations and health protocols are in place.
Stadium court was filled in the afternoon to witness Naomi Osaka take her talents into the third round after beating Angelique Kerber in straight sets 6-2, 6-3.
“The fans were warm, and I was grateful to see Haitian Flags,” Osaka said. Having my mom in attendance and having fun mean a lot to me.”
Osaka’s mom witnessed her win 89% of first-serve points.
Osaka is a contender in Miami.
