It was “Danimal house.”

Danielle Collins had the perfect send-off at her final Miami Open, beating Elena Rybakina 7-5, 6-3, capturing the title in her home state.

Danielle Collins secured her inaugural WTA 1000 title

Collins, age 30, from St. Petersburg, FL., won in front of a supporting crowd that included Andre Agassi and Martina Navratilova.

“What a dream come true! It was amazing to feel the energy from the fans, feeling like I played in front of thousands of my best friends,” Collins said.

Caroline Garcia secures another victory by defeating the world number three player Coco Gauff, while Ekaterina Alexandrova eliminates Iga Swiatek from Miami Open competition

Collins announced this season would be her last because she has endometriosis, an ailment that affects the uterus.

Collins, ranked number 53 and unseeded, is the lowest-ranked woman to win the Miami Open.

Danielle Collins’ historic win marked her as the lowest-ranked champion

Collins also won singles titles at Virginia in 2014 and 2016.

Rybakina lost in the Miami Open women’s final to Petra Kvitová last year.

“I had my chances, but it was difficult to come back,” Rybakina said.
