The Chicago Sky fell to the New York Liberty, 76-91 inside Barclays Center on Thursday, July 11. The Sky are now 9-13 on the season, 5-6 on the road, 5-8 against the Eastern Conference and 1-2 against the Liberty this season.
Chennedy Carter led the Sky in scoring with 22 points to go along with five assists. Isabelle Harrison recorded her first double-double of the season, going for 12 points and a season-high 12 rebounds, one short of tying her career high. Angel Reese extended her WNBA record for consecutive double-doubles, going for 10 points and 10 rebounds to make it 15 straight games. Marina Mabrey recorded 15 points, three rebounds and six assists to round out Chicago’s double-figure scorers.

Reese’s five offensive rebounds and five defensive rebounds tonight marked her 10th such game of the season and tied her with Yolanda Griffith for most games with 5+ offensive boards and 5+ defensive boards in a player’s first season (Across the Timeline).
Chennedy Carter reached 1,000 points scored.
Carter recorded her 11th consecutive game with at least 15 points. Only two players (Elena Delle Donne, Kahleah Copper – 13 each) have had longer streaks in Sky regular season history (Across the Timeline).
Sabrina Ionescu led the Liberty in scoring after dropping 19 in the second half. She finished with 21 points. Jonquel Jones recorded an 18-point, 13-rebound, tying her season high for rebounds in a game. Breanna Stewart posted 19 points, six assists and four rebounds, Leonie Fiebich scored 13 and added four rebounds and four assists and Kayla Thornton scored 16 off the bench.
Jones tied her season high for blocks with four.
Jones passed Tangela Smith (658 career offensive rebounds) for 22nd on the WNBA’s all-time offensive rebounds list with 660 offensive boards after Thursday’s game.

Liberty head coach Sandy Brondello moved to sixth in the WNBA all time in wins with 231 career wins after tonight.
The Sky play the Liberty for the second straight time on Saturday, July 13 at home. Chicago is 1-2 this season against New York after losing on Thursday.
In the first matchup between the two teams, the Sky defeated the Liberty on the road after scoring a season-high 90 points. Marina Mabrey recorded 21 points, six rebounds and seven assists to lead the Sky while Sabrina Ionescu scored a Liberty team-high 19 points and Breanna Stewart recorded 18 points.
On June 4 at home, the Sky fell 75-88. Chennedy Carter led Chicago in scoring with 16 points off the bench while Stewart recorded a 33-point, 14-rebound double-double and Ionescu scored 24 points.
After falling on Thursday, the Sky are 35-34 against the Liberty all time. Chicago is 4-7 this year at home. The final matchup this season between the two teams tips off at 12 p.m. on Saturday, July 13. The game is available nationally on ABC.
